ELM Group’s Unsung Heroes

We are delighted to announce that several of our team have been featured in the latest edition of News on the Block as part of their 2024 ‘Unsung Heroes’ feature.

Judges had a hard time with decision making with the volume of nominations, but our ELM Group Unsung Heroes are featured as below:

Wayne Madeley

Wayne started with ELM Group 4 years ago, and has progressed within the company moving from an Estate Manager role, to our technical team and then on to Area Manager all in under three years. Wayne manages a portfolio of estates across Surrey, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, and is praised by his team and other colleagues at our Head Office for always being kind, helpful and hard working all with an amazing can-do attitude. Most recently Wayne has been assisting with onboarding and training new team members who transferred over to ELM during our recent property acquisition, the feedback from the training has been extremely positive. Wayne is always keen to help wherever he can and is also helping to provide cover for a number of additional estates whilst we recruit for a new Area Manager.

Anita Baker

After taking on the management of an estate which had some historical issues. During her time with ELM Anita has demonstrated her professionalism by rebuilding bridges with residents and improving not only the appearance of the estate but also the overall well-being of the community. She has also provided cover at another nearby estate, and within a short period of time transformed residents’ perspectives to a point where she was given a standing ovation at their budget meeting for all her valuable contributions while handing over the reins to the new temporary manager.

Suzanne Sayers

Suzanne is part of our finance team, working within Credit Control, she handles all her work with dedication, commitment, but most of all, compassion. Before any contact with residents, she confirms with a team member who knows them personally if there is vulnerability she should be aware of. Suzanne does this to ensure she does not cause undue stress and so she can approach them in a way they will be most comfortable to engage with. Her manner when dealing with our often elderly or vulnerable residents is remarkable. She always listens to their concerns with patience and takes into account their circumstances to work with them to find a solution for resolving their arrears.

Verna Isherwood

Verna, whilst new to ELM Group, has managed her site in Peterborough for over 8 years. Verna came over to us as part of our property acquisition and has been an amazing help providing cover for a local estate whilst we recruit a new manager, whilst always ensuring that she manages the estate to the high standard she provides at her own.

Toni Herridge

Toni has been with ELM Group for 2 and a half years, and is a real unsung hero. She is fundamental to keeping our office running smoothly behind the scenes; Toni keeps on top of ordering supplies, manages our incoming and outgoing post and is the first point of call for our customers who phone in with queries. Toni arranges flowers for leaseholders big birthdays and anniversaries, is always cheerful and helpful with everything she does, and can turn her hand to anything.
