What’s in a Name?
In 2014 our founding company Retirement Lease Housing Association rebranded to Ethical Leasehold Management Group to really put emphasis on our ethical values, and to set that service promise to our customers. It is one thing to say we are ethical, but another to have it built into every level of the company’s working culture.
The introduction of The ELM Way training programme has really helped us to live our service promise and customers choose us because of the assurance that we are ethical, direct and honest in everything we do. The ELM Way has resulted in a business wide improvement in ELM Group's working environment and employee/customer satisfaction, and was even shortlisted as a finalist by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in their People Management Awards in 2016.
Having that Ethical tag, also invites people to call us out if we are ever not living up to our name. Which feels very important. We want our customers to trust and depend on us to safely manage their properties the way they would want us to, and in a way that our employees are proud of. We always value any engagement from our customers, whether it be positive or negative, as it allows us to see when we are doing things right, and where we might have room for improvement, it allows us to learn from our mistakes, and take steps to stop the same thing from happening again.
Having ethical written on our letterheads, website & emails, is a continual reminder for ELM Group to hold itself accountable, and for our team to continually strive to be the best, and deliver the highest level of service to our customers.
