Lorraine Collis Named Finalist in the Inspiring Women in Property Awards

Back in June we put our Chief Executive, Lorraine Collis forward for an award with Property Week in their Inspiring Women in Property Awards 2024 and we are delighted to share that Lorraine has been shortlisted as a finalist. This recognition highlights the collective efforts to advance equality, diversity, and inclusion within the property sector.

The awards shine a light on women whose successes stand out above all others, the exceptional figures in the residential property sector who have achieved at the highest level and shown qualities of outstanding skill, judgement and professional expertise.

Narrowed down to a group of 12, the Judges will identify one outstanding individual and role model who has a proven track record of success, someone who is doing remarkable work and making a difference to others. From breaking glass ceilings, to building a vibrant business, to changing attitudes in the industry.

In Lorraine’s 13 years at ELM Group, she has embodied ELM Group’s ethical values wholeheartedly, remaining true to its founding vision: to pioneer the development of affordable retirement housing. Lorraine works hard to cement our reputation as a business offering an ethical approach to leasehold management, setting a standard for transparency in the industry.

Rather than setting low fees to attract business, ELM Group has always charged fair management fees reflecting our extensive in-house processes ensuring best possible value for leaseholders and an upfront service to landlord/freeholders. This is how ELM maintains a transparent business model which doesn’t take commissions.

Lorraine has continuously advocated for greater transparency in the housing industry, recently responding to the FCA’s Consultation on Multi-occupancy Leasehold Insurance Reforms about unethical practices and she is continuing to call for greater transparency in the industry through published opinion pieces and in talks with key industry figures.

One of Lorraine’s significant contributions to the organisation was the introduction of The ELM Way – an internal training programme to set a benchmark for service excellence and ensure everything we do is underpinned by ethical values. This greatly improved the working environment and employee/customer satisfaction and was recognised by The CIPD’s people management awards. In our last employee survey, 93% of employees stated they enjoy coming to work and 89% of employees felt we promoted wellbeing.

Lorraine’s passion, dedication and fierce determination shines through in her supportive leadership style and we are very proud of the working culture Lorraine has created within ELM Group. We wish her the very best of luck in these awards, where we hope she can be recognised for her contributions and commitment to ELM Group and the residential housing sector.
