Riverside Maltings offering Independent Living within a Supportive Community

One of our estates in Northamptonshire recently held an open day to promote the development, which had a great turnout with lots of prospective leaseholders and their families coming along to take a look around.

The weather was perfect, and the day resulted in 22 accompanied viewings by Woodford Estate Agents, with two offers made and accepted on the properties, and two further families expressing an interest in purchasing leaseholds at the estate.

Woodfords Estate Agents provided display boards which were visible at all the entrances to the scheme and advertised at the estate agents in the local town. Estate Manager Verna put together information packs so that prospective buyers could take some information away with them and Woodford’s provided full colour glossy property brochures to hand out.

Many of the current residents were available to answer questions and to chat to visitors, and the day was finished off with tea, coffee, prosecco and cake.

Estate Manager Verna said: “The gardens, grounds and buildings had many compliments on how happy and vibrant the scheme appeared and what happy leaseholders we have. In my opinion it was a very worthwhile experience to raise the profile of the estate and ELM/RLHA”

A lot of the visitors had very limited knowledge of who our Estates are for and many were pleasantly surprised that we are a 55 years and over scheme and the Estate is now attracting the younger end of the age spectrum.”

Following the event, the estate was featured in the Oundle Chronicle as a pioneer in the growth of retirement communities in the area. Riverside Maltings joined ELM Group in 2023 as part of a recent property acquisition from a key housing provider, but when it was built back in 1990, is was part of a new way of organising housing for the changing needs of independent retired people.
